Adventure Motorcycle Shootout Comparison - Africa Twin - KTM 1190 - Multistrada - R1200GS

Motorcycling itself is evolving faster than ever. So are motorcycles. The do anything, go anywhere segment of Adventure motorcycling is easily the most exciting segment. The US Department of Transportation has some interesting, if dated, stats on motorcycling but they don't show very well what people in the industry already know: Adventure motorcycles are quickly overtaking big classic touring bikes. There's a simple reason for this....
You can go anywhere on an adventure bike. On a conventional touring bike you're limited to pavement and the occasional stretch of gravel road. Modern adventure bikes are some of the most capable bikes ever made. Full electronic control, fuel injection, advanced suspension, GPS, highly reliable, and extremely durable not to mention super fun.  🏍 #🏍 OmahaBikeNight

Adventure Shootout: Honda Africa Twin, KTM 1190 Adventure, BMW R1200GS Adventure, and Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro. Comparison Trail Test video.

Some of the current leaders in the Adventure segment are in the video above. Major manufacturers like Honda, KTM, Triumph (notably missing from the comparison above), Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW, and Ducati are going all in betting on the segment. The most recent heavyweight to step into the ring is the 'from the ground up' designed Honda Africa Twin:

Once Honda steps into the ring you know the fight is real. The Africa Twin is the real deal that's intended to set the bar as high as possible for other adventure manufacturers. Expect to see a lot more big adventure bikes as well as a many more, smaller, street legal enduro bikes like the CRF250L, DRZ400, KLX250s, WR250R, KTM EXC line, Etc...
